Stephen Gerrard retired from international football

Latest reports emanating from the United Kingdom, UK, suggest that England captain Steven Gerrard has retired from the international football.

According to BBC, the Liverpool captain made the disclosure on Monday, 21 July, 2014.

The 34-year-old, who captained the Three Lions at the just concluded 2014 FIFA World Cup held in Brazil, where England bowed out in the group stage, had his last appearance for England during a 0-0 draw with Costa Rica in Brazil.

Stevy G has a total of 114 appearances for the English national team. Gerrard won his first cap in a 2-0 win over Ukraine in 2000.

* Steven Gerrard

It was gathered that famous midfielder had “agonised” over the decision since returning from Brazil.

“This has been a very difficult decision, one of the toughest I’ve had to make in my career,” Gerrard told FA.tv.

The Liverpool midfielder continued: "I have enjoyed every minute of representing my country. It’s a sad day for me."

He retires from international duty having scored 21 goals and played at six major tournaments.

* Steven Gerrard
"It was a very difficult decision to make," said Gerrard. "It’s something I have been contemplating for a long time, not just since the end of the World Cup.

"I’ve had to take an awful lot of advice from people who are close to me – players that I still play with, ex-players who I played with a long time ago, managers who I played for years ago.

"It’s been a really tough decision, certainly one of the toughest since I turned professional at 18."

Commenting on the news of Gerrard’s retirement, England manager Roy Hodgson said: "While I’m disappointed, I can entirely understand Steven’s situation and can have no complaints given the incredible service he has given to his country."

Gerrard will continue his club career with Liverpool, for whom he made his debut in 1998 against Blackburn Rovers.

He has spent his entire career at Anfield, winning the Champions League, FA Cup and League Cup.

There are also speculations that Gerrard will now take on a "high profile" ambassadorial role with the Football Association in England.

10 Obvious Signs a Guy Is Flirting with You

10 Obvious Signs a Guy Is Flirting with You

Obvious Signs a Guy Is Flirting with You
Ever wonder if that nice guy is flirting with you? There are a few proven ways that can tell you if he is interested in you. While it’s difficult to read body language at times, it’s possible if you know where to start. Here are 10 ways that men unconsciously and even consciously let you know that they like you. Take a look, see what you see and maybe you will find your love right now.

1. Lovely smile

Lovely smile
A lovely smile is actually a good sign and, when it comes to flirting, it’s one of the surest signs he is interested in you. If you notice that he is smiling at you, there’s a good chance he likes you and wants to approach you. Maybe he is shy, so why not show him your confidence and courage by approaching him first? Of course, if you like him. After all, there is nothing to be ashamed of if you approach a man first. Just smile back, initiate a conversation with him and don’t try to play hard to get. Playing hard to get is a great boost, but often it’s a big turn off for guys.

2. Shy blush

Shy blush
Perhaps you know how it’s difficult to flirt with shy guys, but it doesn’t mean that you should avoid such type of man. If you notice that a guy blushes around you, this is one of the most obvious signs he is trying to flirt with you. However, not only do shy guys blush, any guy can actually blush when he sees a beautiful girl. Blushing is a bodily function that we can’t control and if he blushes around you, he certainly likes you.
  3.EYE CONTACT
Eye contact
This sign is a little bit tricky, but surely worth paying attention to. Eye contact is important during communication and we need to use this form of body language as often as we can. Depending on how long a man holds an eye contact with you, you can find out whether or not he likes you. If he holds an eye contact with you for longer than an average person, it might be a sign he is interested in you. We all make an eye contact when flirting, right? It’s the same for guys. If a guy holds a short eye contact, he might also flirt with you, he is just a bit shy.                                                                                                                       4.MIRRORING
Mirroring
Sometimes men mirror woman’s actions without even knowing it. Mirroring is another sign he is flirting with you. This ranges from mirroring blink rates to mirroring manner of speaking. For instance, you are laughing and he is laughing as well. The thing is, it’s natural for us to mirror something we love. Besides, a lot of singles dating websites advise guys to use mirroring technique when flirting with girls, maybe your crush does this too.

5. Hands on hips

Hands on hips
If he stands with his hands on the hips or places the thumbs in the belt loops, he might be interested in you. This way, he is trying to show you he is a confident man and simply true macho. I personally don’t like when guys use this way while flirting with girls, but still it’s one of the signs he is flirting with you.

6. A flirting touch

A flirting touch
If your crush touches you, it’s definitely a sign he likes you. But, when a guy touches you accidentally, this is absolutely another sign to watch for. It means the guy is trying to get your attention and find any excuse to continue conversation with you. Do you like that guy? If yes, flirt back! Most girls ignore this important sign, but you shouldn’t do it. After all, he might be your hubby!

7. Head Tilts

Head Tilts
The way a man tilts his head can also signify that he likes you. If he tilts the head towards you, this means he’s listening attentively to each word you say. This also means he’s really attuned to what you are talking about and he’s really interested in conversation with you. I love that amazing feeling when a man is listening to me. I always appreciate it, even if I’m not interested in that man.

8. Dilated pupils

Dilated pupils
Sometimes our eyes give us away when we don’t want them to. When we are attracted to someone or something our pupils dilate and they become larger. When we don’t like someone or something, our pupils contract. If you notice that the eyes of the guy keep dilating, it’s one of the most obvious signs he adores you and is highly interested in you.

9. Raised eyebrows

Raised eyebrows
You crush may hide his eyes when he is around you because he likes you. He can keep his eyebrows a little bit raised as well. If his eyes are widened and his eyebrows remain raised while you’re talking, this is definite sign he is flirting with you. Watch for it and you’ll surely see it!

10. Fidgeting

Fidgeting
Do you fidget when you are around the guy you like? I’m pretty sure you do and it’s okay. You are just nervous and it’s actually a good nervous. It’s all about expectation since you don’t know whether or not he is interested in you. If you see him fidgeting, this is because he’s interested in you and he is a bit nervous to start conversation with you.
Now that you’re aware of the signs he is flirting with you, what are you waiting for? Start flirting back and maybe you will have a nice date tonight. Do you know any other signs of flirting that I should have added to this list?                                                                                                                                                        Source:womanitely.com

She said: "I was so excited to have a natural birth for the first time, but as soon as I saw her face I knew something was wrong. I was in shock and I just froze. The midwife cut the cord before I could even say anything and whisked her away from me. There were alarm bells ringing and I was so frightened I couldn’t stand without fainting."

MIT Scientist Develop Sensor-Operated Robotic Fingers

MIT scientists develop sensor-operated robotic fingers

MIT researcher with robotic hand                                                                                                                                                                                                               The extra fingers move in sync with the wearer's hand, the developers said.
Scientists at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) have come up with a robotic extension to the human hand they said could help with everyday tasks.
Researches said the extension - essentially, two extra "fingers" - could be used to grasp, leaving the hand free to do other tasks.
Worn around the wrist, it mimics the movement of the wearer's hand.
The next step, they said, will be a less bulky version.
The extra fingers developed by the team at MIT work using sensors attached to the human hand to measure the position of the wearer's fingers. An algorithm controls the output from the sensors to the robotic fingers, moving them in sync.
"Every day, we use various tools, say a knife and fork and we drive a car and, if we use these tools for a long time, you see that those tools are just an extension of your body," said Harry Asada, the Ford Prof of Engineering in MIT's Department of Mechanical Engineering.
"That is exactly what we would like to do with robotics, you have extra fingers and extra arms. If you have control and can communicate with them very well, you feel that they are just an extension of your body," he added in a video posted on YouTube.
Robotic hand holding coffee cup The device could leave the human hand free to perform other tasks, like stirring coffee, the researchers said.
The robotic fingers are at either side of the the hand - one outside the thumb, and the other outside the little finger.
"This is a completely intuitive and natural way to move your robotic fingers. You do not need to command the robot, but simply move your fingers naturally. Then the robotic fingers react and assist your fingers," said Prof Asada.
The developers said their work up until this point was focused on perfecting the posture and movement of the robotic fingers.
"But it's not the whole story," said graduate student Faye Wu, who presented a paper on the fingers this week at the Robotics: Science and Systems conference in California.
She said: "There are other things that make a good, stable grasp. With an object that looks small but is heavy, or is slippery, the posture would be the same, but the force would be different, so how would it adapt to that? That's the next thing we'll look at."
'Specialists' One independent expert said that the device was most likely to appeal to specialists, rather than the mass market.
"Clearly, the military is interested in robotics, they are interested in building machines, like exoskeletons that allow people to run very fast for a long time," said David Bourne, principal systems scientist at the robotics institute at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh.
"But those things are inherently very expensive," he said, adding that devices need to have a "killer application" to work in the mass market.
However, Mr Bourne said that, after a lull, he has seen a resurgence in interest in robotics in recent years because of advances in the technology.
"You have better control and less awkward communication with the devices now," he said.
MIT Professor Harry Asada Professor Harry Asada said his team was working on making the device smaller and foldable
Prof Asada acknowledged the project had only yielded a prototype at this stage, but said he was optimistic about the possibilities it offers.
"We can shrink it down to one-third its size, and make it foldable," he said.
"We could make this into a watch or a bracelet where the fingers pop up, and when the job is done, they come back into the watch.
