10 Beauty Tips Men Need To Know

It’s not only the girls that take care of their appearance; the guys want to look their best too! But grooming tips for guys are still not as common, as the beauty tips for girls are, so here are ten beauty tips, just for the men:

1.Take care of your hands
Guys are not looking to have smooth and sensitive hands, but that’s no reason to neglect your hands altogether. Untrimmed nails that are clogged with grease and dirt are not attractive, so pay some attention to your hands and nails and a girl won’t be worrying about what germs might be lurking there.

2.A five o’clock shadow doesn’t work for everyone
A five o’clock shadow can look cool and little bit rebellious, but only if you have the right kind of hair. A patchy, wispy beard just looks like you forgot to shave. All men should also not let the hair grow on their neck, that doesn’t look so great at all.

3.Keep your teeth bright and your breath fresh
Don’t forget that your smile is one of your most winning features. All the grooming in the world can be ruined by yellow teeth and bad breath, so be sure to clean your teeth regularly with whitening toothpaste and don’t skip the visits to the dentist.

4.Keep your skin moisturised
Another one of important beauty tips for men is to moisturise your skin regularly. Rough and rugged is one thing, but dry and cracked is completely another. You don’t need anything fancy, just a basic moisturiser will do; it will keep your skin hydrated and it will keep you looking younger too.

5.Exfoliate your skin
Another simple way to keep your skin looking clear and clean is to exfoliate your face about twice a week with a quality exfoliating scrub. Exfoliating removes all the dead and dry skin from your face and it helps stop acne breaking out too.

6.Use the right shampoo for your hair type
Don’t use the cheapest shampoo you can find, select a gentle shampoo that matches your hair type. It’s not just the fragrance that matters, you should also be looking for ingredients like vitamin E that will nourish and condition your hair, while you wash it.

7.Keep your hair well-trimmed
A lot of men think a haircut is an annual event! Get your hair cut by a proper hairdresser regularly and, if it’s starting to thin, whatever you do, don’t try and hide it with a comb over! A well styled, well cared for head of hair shows that you take care of yourself, and that says a lot about the type of person you are.

8.Get rid of unwanted hair
Next good beauty tip for men is to trim bushy eyebrows, nasal hair and hair sticking out of your ears, if you don’t want to look like a cartoon character. It doesn’t have to be done every day and it doesn’t take a lot of effort, but it can make a huge difference to your appearance.

9.Visit the gym more often
Working out will keep you in physical shape and it will improve your overall appearance. Exercise improves the blood circulation and increases the amount of oxygen that reaches your internal organs and your skin, all of which will help to give you a clean looking, healthy glow.

10.Eat well
What you eat and drink can drastically affect the way you look. Eat plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables, drink plenty of water and cut down on the grease and processed foods. Think lean and fresh, when you make your food choices, it will help you look better and hold back the signs of ageing.

What are your favorite beauty tips for men?

Stay happy!

Dating Tips For The Real Men

When you are 20-something dating can be a real challenge. Watching movies in your parent`s house or playing video games in your room are not so great ideas anymore. It is high time to put some efforts to meet some new people and to date as a real man!

1. Be a gentleman

Probably this variant is too charming, though…

Be charming, good-looking, wear clean clothes and don`t forget at least to open doors for her. It is easy.

2. Flowers are always an option

Flowers always can be an option! Just be creative!

Flowers never suck. Yes, it can be rather old-school, but it is hard to imagine a situation when a girl stabs you in the face for bringing her flowers.

3. Funny date is better than a boring one

Classic restaurants can be fancy and too formal. Some original place where you can have some comfort food is always more comfortable and cool. The best variant is to plan something taking into account some stuff, that she would be into.

4. Rule about the 3 days wait sucks

You don`t need to wait three days to call her. Really, this rule sounds stupid. But it is unnecessary to overload her phone with dozens of texts five minutes after the date ended.

5. Talk about yourselves

This sounds too basic but these kind of things are essential.

6. Don`t freak her out

For example there is no need to start asking if she is having fun with you or if she liked food/flowers/place you chose 100 times. If she is not w=running away from you screaming – than everything is OK.

7. Always have contraception with you

Be prepared. Bring condoms with you. But you should also understand that the fact you have them in your pocket doesn`t mean you`ll get laid.

8. Try to be sincere

If you like her – tell her. If you don`t want anything serious – tell her. And if you want to break up with her, guess what? Right! Tell her! It is better to be mean once than to become an asshole step by step and waiting that she will get it by herself. Be straight with her.

9. Be careful with private pics

Never send it unexpectedly. Of course there times when it is Ok to send her your naked pic: she asks for your pic, she sends you her pic first.

10. Talks about exes are a taboo

Never talk about your exes. This is always a bad idea.

TOP-5 Reasons Why Women Cheat And How To Prevent It

There are a lot of women that do not cheat on their partners. If they are happy with their partner and secure in their relationship, it is unlikely that most women will stray.

That being said, some women do cheat and there are some specific occasions where they are more likely to do it.

Read below to see when she might stray and how you can prevent as her partner.

A survey conducted by Durex, in which 29,000 people in 36 countries were interviewed has ranked Nigerian women as one of the most unfaithful in the world. But what are the reasons?

1.Age trigger
Decade and half-decade birthdays can be a hard time for a ladies. Women clocking such ages as 30, 35, 40, 50, etc might think about their life and its directions, and if it is not going the way they wants, she might want to correct this by having an affair.

Advice for men: be there for her. According to the statistics, there are two dates when any straight Nigerian woman wants a men in her bed: her birthday and the New Year’s Eve. Don’t leave her solo and don’t forget about the presents.

2. She got a promotion

Women, as much as men, love to achieve their goals.. And when she is able to conquer one of her job-related challenges, she might focus on another – her relationship. She might want to take some risk with her relationship, or might want to find excitement in the arms of another man. Also women who have big salaries are more likely to cheat.

Advice for men: be with your girl. Celebrate all her accomplishments, even those ones which you consider to be unimportant. When she feels like you admire and respect her, she will feel valued at home as much as she does at work.

3.You start to live together
Things change when you start to live together. When you share all the boring routine moments of your life, she can subconsciously think that you consider her to be boring too. And if there’s someone else around who finds her attractive and intriguing-and shows it-she might go for him instead. One survey found that 41 percent of women who’ve cheated did it with a coworker. Also, after moving in, women start dreaming about engagement or marriage.

Advice: Talk with her about the future and make it clear that you want her in your future.

4. She thinks you have cheated

Affair as a revenge is very common. Women sometimes do this to restore their self-esteem and feel attractive and desirable again.

Advice: If you cheated or are cheating, confess. Try to apologize. If you were not cheating you have got a paranoid girlfriend. Maybe she has low self-confidence. So you should try to compliment her sincerely and often. Make her feel better about herself.

5. She wants to break up with you

One more reason on why woman might cheat – She is about to dump you. So she may cheat to have a reason to do so.

Advice: Let her go. She is not your woman.

How to Kiss Your Crush Perfectly: 10 Easy Steps

Kissing is an art and it pretty much decides what your better half thinks about you. Kissing helps us judge potential partners and plays a vital role in a partner staying around, which means that it’s very important to be good at kissing if you want your girl or guy to stay around or impress them.

Here are some very important things to keep in mind so that the first kiss doesn’t result in a stalemate!

Setting Up for Success

Step 1. Make sure you have good breath! Nobody wants to taste garlic or other icky flavors after the kiss, as this can be a major turn off. Before the date or when you see her, brush your teeth and tongue and use mouth wash! To maintain good breath try drinking water on the date instead of soft drink. You can also suck on a mint or chew minty gum for a few minutes mid-way through the date.

Step 2. Flirt a little! This can help set the mood. Tell her that what she is wearing looks pretty; she will appreciate it! If she playfully punches you a lot or teases you in a friendly manner, then she wants you to touch her. Stay in safe territory like quickly grabbing her hand when you want to go show her something; she will appreciate not having to do the whole awkward looking at each other and blushing thing.

Step 3. Time it right. Getting good timing will make it a lot easier. A good time for a kiss is at the end of a date, when you’re generally saying goodbye, when you’re out for a walk, or after you’ve just finished watching a movie. You’ll notice that all of these times are pretty private and should pretty much just be the two of you. This is important! You should choose a private time for a first kiss.

Step 4. Ask! It seems weird because we’re only used to seeing the super charming people in movies kissing, but asking a girl if you can kiss her is a great way to show her that you respect her and care about her feelings. She’ll appreciate it!

Nailing the Technique

Step 5. Move your face slowly toward hers. This is a universal signal that you’re moving in for a kiss. This gives her the option to let you know that she’s uncomfortable and will help keep you from getting slapped. Don’t close your eyes until you are just about to kiss her.

Step 6. Try a simple close-mouthed kiss. Don’t use tongue the first time you kiss a girl. Make sure you close your eyes right before you start the kiss. Tilt your head. Move in sideways a little. If your head is just as upright as her, you’ll bump your nose into her nose instead of your lips into her lips.

Step 7. Move slowly and follow her lead. If she’s a deep, passionate kisser, she’ll hold your lips in hers for a long while; you won’t need to move your lips much. You use your hands. If you want, cup her face with your hand and slowly stroke her cheek with your thumb. Make sure you still have one arm firm around her waist or lower back.

Step 8. Be tender and loving. Kissing is like a silent conversation: You want to be kind, gentle, forgiving, and you want the other person to keep coming back for more!

Step 9. Breathe. You’d be surprised how many people forget to breathe when they aren’t used to kissing! If you want to keep kissing her but you’re having trouble finding a break to breathe, try moving away from kissing her mouth to kiss her cheek or forehead.

Be tender and loving!

Step 10. Stop when you’re ready. Slowly pull away after a few seconds (or minutes!) and open your eyes. Congratulations! Each kiss after the first one is so much easier. You’ve reached the top of the mountain. Congratulations!

Apple Records Over 10million Sale Of iPhone 6 & iPhone 6+ On First Weekend

The record-breaking sales ‘exceeded our expectations for the launch weekend, and we couldn’t be happier,’ CEO Tim Cook said. The new smartphone models were available in 10 countries.

In just three days, sales of the iPhone 6 and larger iPhone 6 Plus have set a record.

Apple on Monday announced that iPhone sales surpassed 10 million following the first weekend of sales in 10 initial countries.

To put the figures into some sort of context, Samsung announced in May that it had shipped 10 million Galaxy S 5 handsets globally, a month after its global release.

However, shipping isn’t the same as selling, and Apple is the only big smartphone maker that is happy to publicly divulge sales figures.

Selling 10 million handsets in three days, despite the phone only being on sale in 10 countries is a remarkable feat, and one that Apple is clearly very proud of: “Sales for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus exceeded our expectations for the launch weekend, and we couldn’t be happier,” said Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO. “We would like to thank all of our customers for making this our best launch ever, shattering all previous sell-through records by a large margin. While our team managed the manufacturing ramp better than ever before, we could have sold many more iPhones with greater supply and we are working hard to fill orders as quickly as possible.”

Indeed as some publications reported, supplies of the larger iPhone 6 Plus were constrained in the US, causing people who had queued for hours to walk away empty-handed.

The new iPhone 6 and its phablet counterpart, the iPhone 6 Plus both boast the biggest displays ever to feature on an Apple smartphone — 4.7-inches and 5.5-inches, respectively. They are also the first iPhones to have health apps baked into the operating system and to support mobile payments.

As well as making existing Apple fans very happy, the new, bigger phones appear to be attracting the attention of Android smartphone owners too.

According to US smartphone trade-in website, Gazelle, Samsung handset trade-ins jumped threefold following the announcement of the latest iPhones. It also claimed in an email to BGR that one in three people who traded in an Android handset said that they were planning to upgrade to an iPhone 6. The iPhone 6 will be rolling out to consumers in Switzerland, Italy, New Zealand, Sweden, Netherlands, Spain, Denmark, Ireland, Norway, Luxembourg, Russia, Austria, Turkey, Finland, Taiwan, Belgium and Portugal on September 26 and, according to the company, by the end of 2014 will be on sale in 115 countries.

NFF Finally Gets New President

After all the confusion that has trailed the election of a new president for the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Delta State FA chairman, Amaju Pinnick, has been elected as the new boss of the Nigerian football house.

According to the voting process held in Warri, Delta State, on Tuesday, 30 September, 2014, Pinnick, who is also the chairman of the Delta State Sports Commission, became the new NFF boss through a run-off process after he could not get the two-third of votes in the first round of voting.

Supersport reports that the 43-year-old football administrator got 32 of the 44 votes in the run-off after polling 25 in the first round of voting during the NFF elective general assembly.

It was gathered that the vice chairman of Lobi Stars and former Nigeria international, Dominic Iorfa, ended up in second place with eight votes in the run-off after he initially received six votes in the first round of voting.

New NFF boss, Amaju Pinnick.

Former NFF secretary-general Taiwo Ogunjobi, who finished a distant second with nine votes in the first round of voting, came in third position with four votes after the run-off.

Also, a former NFF vice president, Amanze Uchegbulam got four votes, while Mike Umeh and Abba Yola ended the polling process without any votes.

Meanwhile, the seventh aspirant, Shehu Dikko, was declared withdrawn from the NFF presidential election by the football federation’s electoral committee since he was absent.

Speaking to journalists after the elction, Pinnick said: “I am so excited winning the election and I will make sure I lift Nigerian football high when I assume office.”

Prior to the commencement of the election, there have been rumour that voting might not hold following a court order halting the elective congress of the NFF holding today.

It would be recalled that the world football governing body, FIFA, had given Nigeria up till today for a new president of the NFF to be elected.

This is after the country had been suspended and the suspension lifted by FIFA following the removal and reinstatement of former NFF president, Aminu Maigari.

With the election of Pinnick as the new NFF president today, it is hoped that the new board would put their acts together and get to work as the Super Eagles and the Super Falcons are have continental engagements next month.

The Eagles are expected to play Sudan (away and home) in 2015 Nations Cup qualifiers, while the Falcons would compete at the 2014 African Women Championship holding in Namibia.

President Jonathan's 2014 Nigerian Independence Day Address

His Excellency, President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, GCFR, has addressed his fellow Nigerians to honour the 54th anniversary of Nigerian independence as a sovereign nation.

We present you with main points of our nation’s leader’s speech.

1. Nigerian independence: Optimism
President Jonathan noted that today also marks “the tenth month of our journey into a new century, having marked the centenary of our nation in January this year.”  He remarked how, over the course of those one hundred years Nigerians experienced “triumphs and tribulations, benefits and burdens, opportunities and challenges,” “made some far reaching advances in building a strong, united and prosperous nation,” “overcame the forces of disunity that culminated in a debilitating civil war,” and “renewed our faith in one another, and in our country.”

2. Nigerian independence: Fighting terrorism, Victims Support Fund
President Jonathan paid respect to the victims of multiple terrorist attacks and assured that “individuals who want to compel us to live our lives their way” will not be allowed to succeed.

President Jonathan announced that, “to assist the injured, the displaced and the bereaved,” his administration has launched the Victims Support Fund.

“This Administration is committed to making Nigeria safe for all Nigerians, irrespective of our places of birth, how we worship God and our political persuasion,” President Jonathan said.

He expressed gratitude to our patriotic and tireless security forces that continue to engage the terrorists in battle.

“As Commander-in-Chief, I will continue to do all it takes to enable them to keep on inflicting devastating blows at the heart of terror,” President Jonathan said and urged Nigerians to “avail our men and women in uniform of all the support they need to fight and win this war.”

“To all those waging war against our country, I ask that you lay down your arms and embrace peace. To those who have genuine grievances, I affirm that Nigeria will listen to you, if you bring your grievances to the table of dialogue.”

President Jonathan thanked “the international community, and especially our neighbours” for their “increased partnership and solidarity,” “offering assistance in confronting terrorism.”

3. Nigerian independence: Developing North East region
President Jonathan, addressing the nation on the occasion of the Nigerian independence day, said his administration is dedicated to “to fast-track the economic restoration of this region” “despite the machinations of the terrorists and their sponsors.”

4. Nigerian independence: National Dialogue
In his Nigerian independence speech, the President acknowledged that, despite the challenges members of the 2014 National Conference headed by Justice Legbo Kutigi faced, it was a success.

“I have started by setting up the Ministerial Committee headed by the Honourable Attorney General of the Federation to work out the modalities for implementing the Report,” the President said. He added that “a multi-ethnic country like ours … must learn to embrace painstaking dialogue until consensus is established.”

5. Nigerian independence: Elections 2015
President Jonathan emphasized that his administration is working to ensure “that we build and sustain a democratic infrastructure anchored on free and fair elections.”

“Election days must not be days of violence and death. We must remain vigilant to ensure that our electoral process is characterised by peace, security and transparency.

“I enjoin the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), all security agencies, politicians and the electorate to work conscientiously and peacefully, together, to consolidate on the gains of the recent elections.”

In his Nigerian independence day address, President Jonathan warned political leaders against “overheating the polity” and “translating the contest for power to the destruction of the polity.”

“The love of country should rank higher than our individual ambitions.

“We must remain committed to a united and indivisible Nigeria within democratic parameters. The protection of individual rights, liberty, equality before the law, freedom of thought, and a progressive pursuit of a sound economy must be our goal.”

6. Nigerian independence: Sector Development
President Jonathan observed that today, Nigeria is acknowledged as the largest economy in Africa by “every international monitoring and ratings agency,” with a Gross Domestic Product of $510 billion. These numbers also place us as the 26th largest economy in the world.

He named a number of initiatives to “fast track inclusive growth, job creation, enterprise development and industrialisation”: Nigeria Industrial Revolution Plan (NIRP) and the National Enterprise Development Programme (NEDEP),a special support programme for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, and the Presidential Job Creation Board.

President Jonathan accounted for progresses and upgrades being made in Power, Agriculture, Infrastructure, Economic, Oil and Gas, Social, Housing and Education sectors.

He vowed to further encourage “indigenous asset ownership, utilisation of Nigerian-owned and built assets, indigenous participation in the provision of goods and services.”

7. Nigerian independence: Conquering Ebola Virus Disease
In the closing points of his Nigerian independence day speech, President Jonathan commended the Federal Ministry of Health for “swift, effective and comprehensive action” while conquering the deadly Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) brought to Nigeria recently.

He, however, adviced Nigerians to “adhere strictly to all the guidelines that have been given by our health officials to keep Ebola out of our country,” since “the Ebola battle is still raging elsewhere in our sub-region”.

Concluding his Nigerian independence day speech, Presdeint Jonathan expressed confidence that our tomorrow “will be better than our yesterday and today.” He prompted Nigerians to “stand together in love and unity, as one people under God,” reminding that we are “one family”.

Drunk in Love! 25 year old woman marries cardboard cut-out of Robert Pattinson (Photos)

Lauren Adkins, 25, is married to a life-size cut-out of vampire Edward Cullen from the Twilight movies, played by Robert Pattinson.

She told Uk Mirror

“We got hitched in Las Vegas last year and I’m sure we’re happier than most newlyweds.People might think I’m crazy but my flat-pack R-Patz is the closest I’ll get to the real thing and he’s the one for me.For as long as I can remember I’ve been obsessed with romantic fairytale endings. When I was a child, I watched the Disney versions of Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs and Cinderella until the tapes wore out.”

It was different from any love story I’d seen before – after all, the leading character was as likely to suck your blood as open the door for you. I was obsessed.Leading man Edward was quiet and mysterious, yet superhuman and invincible. And so sexy.

I tore through the books and I queued outside the cinema when the film was released, desperate for my first glimpse of Edward. And when Robert Pattinson appeared on screen at midnight, he was perfect. I knew that very minute I wanted to marry him.”

"Of course he was made from cardboard, but that didn’t matter to me. Suddenly I was taken over with an urge to have him.I grabbed his rigid torso and stuffed him under my arm before marching to the counter and handing over a $20 note. Then, cramming him into my car I headed back to my apartment where I ripped off his cellophane and stood him at the foot of my bed. For the rest of the night I couldn’t take my eyes off him. Then I started thinking – the guys I’d dated before had all been so hopeless, I might as well have been with a cardboard cut-out. So where was the shame in taking him out with me?”

A friend who thought I was going mad said one night: ‘If you love him so much why don’t you marry him?’ Her words rang in my ears. She was right. Why didn’t I?”

“I walked down the aisle in January in the white wedding dress I’ve always dreamt of.I held the reception at an art gallery and ordered champagne and a five-tier cake to share with my 50 guests. The day cost £2,000 but I didn’t care – I wanted to do it properly. We had our honeymoon in LA and I wanted us to climb up to the Hollywood sign together.”I had to carry him, and we had to do it at night because he can’t be in the sun.But everyone makes sacrifices for the man they love, right?”

This Is What Will Happen When Wizkid Releases His Much Awaited Album

When Wizkid finally drops his sophomore album, two things will happen.

One, the long and exhaustive wait for a follow up to the highly successful debut album will finally be over; and two, he will have an opportunity to prove to fans that he still is (or not) a major player in the highly competitive music industry in Africa.

Looking at the track lists of the album, 7 of the 19 tracks have already been released. Good songs but not big hits as would have been expected of a Wizkid who cleaned out all awards and sold out shows after his debut album. The singles have done fairly well, but it remains to be seen if the album will do better.

Prior to the recent update, there have been a lot of inconsistencies regarding the album. Almost a year ago, Wizkid tweeted he was dropping two albums, ‘The Chosen’ and ‘Starboy’ in 2014. Not anymore, since the new album is now titled ‘Ayo (Joy)’.

Also, he had tweeted about Wande Coal, Olamide and Burna Boy features on the album. I guess either those collaborations didn’t happen or the tracks didn’t make the final cut. Disappointingly, his recent frolic with American singer, Chris Brown did not pay off in track collaboration. Whatever happened to the Rihanna collaboration that was earlier rumoured to be in the works? I guess that didn’t work out too.

Now, the starboy is finally ready for a release, but it troubles me to say that the outcome of this album will some what define his career. One challenge the ‘Caro’ singer will encounter is proving to the fans that despite a continous push in release date and change in album title, that the wait was certainly worth it. The quality of the new tracks has to measure up for the long wait.

As much as we will hate to compare Wizkid with his major rival, Davido, the reality always kicks in because every now and then fans are consumed on social media with comments on who’s a better artiste between them. Perhaps, Wizkid’s biggest challenge will be to at least maintain a healthy competition withDavido who has had a phenomenal year topping almost every feat that Wizkid had earlier accomplished.

Real Madrid's James Rodriguez voted sexiest man of 2014!

Colombian soccer star, James Rodriguez has been voted the sexiest man of 2014 following his World Cup heroics and estimated €80 million transfer to Real Madrid.

People En Espanolmagazine awarded the title to the Colombia superstar, who recently launched his own range of branded underpants, after going from promising talent to global superstar overnight by grabbing the Golden Boot in Brazil this summer.

James' wife insisted that his personality is what makes the attacking midfielder so alluring, not necessarily his boyish good looks - though it probably also helps that he earns more in a week than most people on the planet earn in a year!

"He's a very attractive man," Daniela Ospina said. "But what I most like is the way he is, his personality. It's what I really love."

Meanwhile, James' mother insists that fame has not gone to the 23-year-old's head and that he remains humble about his talent on the football pitch.

"He is still the same," Maria del Pilar Rubio added. "What characterises him most is his humility, "

Past winners of the English language version of the award include Hollywood actors Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Johnny Depp, Matt Damon and Ryan Reynolds.

The 'sexiest man on the planet' tag now gives James bragging rights in the Santiago Bernabeu dressing room over Cristiano Ronaldo, although the new Madrid player still has some way to be considered hotter than his Ballon d'Or-winning team-mate on the pitch.

SAD: Joan Rivers,Woman Extraordinaire Passes On At 81…

Joan Alexandra Rosenberg (née Molinsky;
June 8, 1933 – September 4, 2014), known by
her stage name Joan Rivers, was an American
actress, comedian, writer, producer, and
television host, best known for her stand-up
comedy, for co-hosting the E! celebrity fashion
show Fashion Police, and for starring in the
reality series Joan and Melissa: Joan Knows
Best? alongside her daughter Melissa Rivers.

Rivers first came to prominence in 1965 as a
guest on The Tonight Show, a
pioneering late-night program with interviews
and comedy, hosted by Johnny Carson, whom
she acknowledges as her mentor. The show
established her particular comic style, poking
fun at celebrities, but also at herself, often
joking about her extensive plastic surgery.
When she launched a rival program, The Late
Show, he never spoke to her again. She went
on to host a successful daytime slot, The Joan
Rivers Show, which won her a Daytime Emmy
for Outstanding Talk Show Host. Her satirical
style of humor, however, by focusing on the
personal lives of celebrities and public figures,
was sometimes criticized.
During her 55-year career as a comedian, her
tough-talking style of satirical humor was both
praised and criticized as being truthful, yet
too personal, too gossipy, and very often
abrasive. Nonetheless, with her ability to “tell
it like it is,” she became a pioneer of
contemporary stand-up comedy. Commenting
about her style, she told biographer Gerald
Nachman, “Maybe I started it. We’re a very
gossipy culture. All we want to know now is
private lives.”
On August 28, 2014, Rivers experienced
serious complications and stopped breathing
during a procedure on her vocal cords, at a
clinic in Yorkville, Manhattan. She was taken
to Mount Sinai Hospital and was put into a
medically induced coma after reportedly
suffering cardiac arrest.
On August 29, her daughter, Melissa, publicly
stated that Joan was “resting comfortably” in
the hospital.
On August 30, it was reported that Rivers had
been put on life support.
Reports initially stated that Rivers’ family
might face ending her life support if her
condition did not improve. However, on
September 1, 2014, an unnamed source told
Entertainment Tonight that Rivers’ physicians
at Mount Sinai Hospital had started the
process of trying to bring her out of the coma
on August 31. Prior to that, there had been no
further medical updates beyond her
daughter’s statement.
On September 3, Melissa Rivers issued a brief
statement that Rivers had been moved from
Mount Sinai Hospital’s intensive care unit into
a private room, without any comment
concerning Rivers’s condition or prognosis.
The following day, September 4, 2014, Melissa
announced via another statement that Rivers
had died at the age of 81 at 1:17 p.m.
She will be buried on Sunday September 7th
at the Temple Emanu-El in New York –
RIP.

12 Unexpected Things That Mess With Your Memory

You regularly ransack the house to find your keys. You suddenly can’t recall the name of your kid’s teacher. You made your six-month dentist appointment three months late. Sound familiar? Fear not: most forgetfulness isn’t anything serious, says Majid Fotuhi, MD, PhD, founder and chief medical officer of NeurExpand Brain Center in Luterville, MD and co-author of The Memory Cure. Lack of sleep, certain medications, and even stress can impact your memory. “Fortunately, your brain is malleable, meaning it changes and improves,” says Dr. Fotuhi. “Memory can be boosted with simple powerful interventions.” Here are surprising things that impact your memory in both good and not-so-good ways.

1. A dysfunctional thyroid

When your thyroid’s out of whack, you may feel too hot, too cold, anxious, depressed—and your memory may also be lagging. “Although the thyroid doesn’t have a specific role in the brain, memory loss is the one thing a person notices when it stops functioning normally,” says Dr. Fotuhi. A butterfly-shaped gland that sits along the front of your windpipe, the thyroid reigns over almost all your body’s metabolic processes. “People with high or low thyroid levels—which are very common in women—may have difficulty with memory and concentration,” he says. Ask your doctor for a simple thyroid test to determine if it’s the culprit behind your memory problems.

2. Hot flashes

Every time hot flashes make you you feel like sticking your head in the freezer, you may also feel a fog rolling into your brain. “The more hot flashes a woman experiences during menopause, the worse her ability to remember names and stories,” says Dr. Fotuhi. “Fortunately, hot flashes don’t damage the brain in any way. Memory improves once the hot flashes subside.” Other menopause-related symptoms contribute to memory loss, including insomnia and sleep apnea, Dr. Fotuhi says.

3. Lack of sleep

Last night’s late party makes it less likely you’ll remember your new coworker’s name the next day. “While some part of the brain takes a siesta when we sleep, deeper areas involved with memory and emotional response become relatively more active,” says Allen Towfigh, MD, medical director of New York Neurology & Sleep Medicine. “Individuals with sleep deprivation and sleep disorders not only suffer from impaired memory but also daytime fatigue, impaired attention, and reduced reaction time.” The standard recommendation of eight hours of sleep a night doesn’t necessarily work for everyone. If you wake up fatigued and fall asleep unintentionally during the day, then you may need more sleep, says Dr. Towfigh.

4. Anxiety and depression

Worrying about an upcoming presentation in front of the CEO may also hinder your memory, several studies show. “We don’t understand the exact link, but strong evidence indicates depression, anxiety, and bipolar disease disrupts the neural circuitry involved in developing and retrieving memories,” says Dr. Towfigh. “The severity of the memory loss often mirrors the severity of the mood disorder—severe depression brings about equally severe memory loss.” Prolonged periods of everyday stress increase cortisol levels in the brain, which causes our brain cells to lose synapses (the bridges that connect our brain cells to one another), and make it more difficult to create and retrieve memories. The good news is when memory loss exists with a mood disorder (including anxiety and depression), the memory loss is usually at least partially reversible. “As the individual’s mood improves, often so does the memory loss,” says Dr. Towfigh.

5. Prescription drugs

Check your medicine cabinet: many common prescription drugs can make you feel forgetful. Anxiety disorder meds like Xanax, Valium, and Ativan (which are benzodiazepines) put a damper on the part of the brain that moves events from the short-term to the long-term memory. Tricyclic antidepressants have a similar effect. Heart medicines including statins and beta blockers have also been linked to memory issues, as have narcotic painkillers, incontinence drugs, sleep aids, and even antihistamines like Benadryl. Bottom line: Don’t stop taking your (potentially life-saving) medications, but talk to your doc if you believe any drug you’re on may be messing with your memory.

6. Smoking

If you’re still smoking, that may help explain memory lapses. “Smoking damages the brain by impairing its blood supply,” says Dr. Towfigh. Research published in the Archives of General Psychiatry gathered from data obtained from more than 7,000 men and women found a more rapid decline in brain function (which included memory along with vocabulary and other brain functions) with age than from those who never smoked. “Furthermore, cigarette smoking promotes the accumulation of abnormal proteins which impair the brain’s ability to process and relay information,” says Dr. Towfigh.

7. A high-fat diet

Greasy burgers and French fries pack on pounds and are hard on your heart—and they may also cause memory issues. One study revealed that adolescent mice had poorer learning and memory skills after being fed a high-fat diet for eight weeks, while another study on middle-aged rats found that the hippocampus (the part of the brain responsible for short-term memory) may be particularly vulnerable to the impact of high-fat diets.

More research is needed to determine for sure whether or not high-fat diets impact human memory, but here’s what we do know: Calorically dense diets promote type 2 diabetes, hypertension, and cardiovascular disease, which can all do damage to our brains, says Dr. Towfigh. “This holds true earlier in life, too. Studies link childhood obesity with a reduced attention span and impaired concentration and focus.”

8. Stress

A sudden emergency can make it tough to recall something as simple as your home address. A rat study published in Neuron shows that stress hormones influence an area of the brain area that controls working memory. Researchers found that repeated stress reduced receptors in the part of the brain that’s connected to thought processes Although this study involved animals, the human brain works similarly, explains Dr. Towfigh. “Repeated or chronic stress can be harmful. Regular exposure to elevated glucocorticoids (a hormone released by the adrenal gland) also causes our brain cells to reduce receptors, making brain cells less capable of responding to neurochemical (brain chemicals) cues.” Finding ways to relieve stress may help: Practicing meditation does double duty by easing stress and helping improve memory, according to a study from the University of California, Santa Barbara. College students who completed eight 45-minute meditation sessions over two weeks increased their average GRE exam scores from 460 to 520 and showed improvement on tests of working memory.

9. Germs

A nasty cold sore does more than make you feel self-conscious—it may be messing with your memory, according to a 2013 study in Neurology. Researchers found that people who exposed to many germs, such as herpes simplex type 1 (the cold sore virus), over their lifetimes were more likely to have memory problems than those exposed to fewer germs. Among more than 1,600 study participants, those with a higher “infectious burden” had a 25% increase in the risk of a low score on a cognitive test. Although there is no vaccine for the cold sore virus, childhood vaccinations against other viruses could help prevent problems later in life, the researchers suggest. In addition, regular exercise may help too—doctors think repeated infections may damage blood vessels, since a high infectious burden is also linked to a greater risk of stroke and heart attack.

10. Green tea

Now for some good news: chemicals found in green tea may help improve your memory, according to a University of Basel study. “Several compounds, EGCG and L-theanine, in green tea increase neurogenesis (growth of new brain cells) in the hippocampus, the part of the brain used for short-term memory and learning new things,” says Dr. Fotuhi. How much green tea has not yet been determined, says Dr. Fotuhi, who recommends combining green tea with other healthy habits such as exercise for greatest memory improvement benefits.

11. Exercise

Regular sweat sessions also help keep memories sharp. “Physical exercise improves mood and sleep and by doing so, it invariably improves cognition and memory,” says Dr. Towfigh. An animal study published in Brain, Behavior and Immunity, for example, showed daily exercise increased brain cell growth after 12 weeks of conditioned running. Dr. Fotuhi recommends 45 minutes of aerobic exercise four days a week for the best memory boost.

12. Vitamin B12 deficiency

Vegetarians and vegans are at a higher risk of being deficient in vitamin B12, which keeps the body’s nerve and blood cells healthy and helps make DNA. That’s because B12 occurs naturally only in animal foods: shellfish, meat, poultry, eggs, and dairy. In addition to fatigue, loss of appetite, constipation, and weight loss, a B12 deficiency can also lead to memory problems. If you feel your meatless diet may be affecting your memory, your doctor can give you a blood test that determines whether you should be taking a vitamin B12 supplement.

Note: it’s not just veggies who are at risk for a B12 deficiency. Pregnant women, older adults, and anyone with pernicious anemia or gastrointestinal disorders like celiac disease and Crohn’s disease may need supplementation.

How To Make Your Crush Fall In Love With You

There is this guy in your life, who makes you go weak in your knees every time you lay eyes on him. Now love will happen if it is meant to be. Destiny will take its own course. But why play by the rules? Why not give destiny a little nudge? Sometimes even the cupid needs a little help to shoot in the right direction. Here are some ways to help you make your crush fall in love with you.
1) Get Noticed
He cannot fall in love with you if he doesn’t know you exist. It is good to be casual, act as if you don’t care and sometimes it is the best way to make your crush more interested in you, but make sure that he notices you.

2) Be Sexy and look good
People are attracted to people who are attractive, so please take care of your appearance. Looking good is very-very important. Get your hair done, work out, and maybe get your teeth whitened. When you feel good about yourself, people notice. Dress in what suits your body best.

3) Look Interested
When you have the chance to talk to him, look interested in his talks and pay compliments to him. Guys like to think you know what they are talking about. Common interests are must for a relationship.

4) Be Flirty
Flirt with him. Give him signals that he interests you. Try and make maximum eye contact with him. Give him some flirty glances in between and look him in the eye if he asks what? Just say it is nothing but his eyes are beautiful.

5) Make a common friend
Make a friend that he is friends with also (make sure that’s a guy). He could be a way to communicate to your crush. He will also come in handy when you want to know more about your crush.

6) Make him jealous
Have a good time without your crush. Have fun with others guys and make sure he is jealous watching you talking or flirting with someone else. Be sure not to overdo it. This is just a way to send him a small message that that you have other options also to be happy.

7) Never be clingy
Value your independence. Don’t cling to him for everything. Too much attention can make you look desperate in his eyes.

Most importantly, you should not worry too much on how to make him fall in love with you. Your love should like you the way you are. If he doesn’t, just accept the fact that he is not the one for you. Love is not a one night affair. In the end all that matters is that you love yourself.

chelsea successfully signed loic remy

Chelsea Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Loic Remy from Queens Park Rangers.

The France international striker has signed a four-year contract.

The 27-year-old played in the Premier League for Newcastle last season while on loan from QPR. He returned to Loftus Road in the summer.

On signing for the Blues, he said: 'I feel very happy and very proud. When I heard Chelsea wanted to sign me I said "let's go" straight away because they are one of the best clubs in the world. I remember the amazing atmosphere at Stamford Bridge when I played there for Marseille and I can't wait to play for the first time in front of my new fans.'

Remy, who is 6ft tall, is renowned for his pace, eye for goal and a versatility which has also allowed him to succeed in wide positions.

He is one of an illustrious list of players to have come through Lyon’s youth academy. He made his first-team debut for his home-town club in 2006 and played for them during two Ligue 1 title-winning seasons, as well as experiencing the Champions League.

However, it was at Nice, following a loan spell at Lens, where the young Remy truly began to build his reputation.

The goals flowed fast, earning a move along the south coast to Marseille, signed by former Chelsea player and current France manager Didier Deschamps in August 2010. He scored his first Champions League goals during his opening season for Marseille and played in two group games against Chelsea. He was their top league scorer with 15 goals in 2010/11 as well as finding the net for the first time for France that season, having made his international debut in June 2009.

With Remy having averaged almost a goal every two games during two and a half years at Marseille, the Premier League came calling in January 2013 and he scored on his QPR debut at West Ham. Of his six goals in 14 games before the end of that campaign, it was a first-time smash from outside the area against Wigan that most caught the eye. However with Rangers relegated from the top flight, he was loaned for 2013/14 to Newcastle.

A goal against Chelsea at St James’ Park in November was one of 14 he scored in the Premier League last season, helping to earn a place in France’s squad for Brazil in the summer, where he made two substitute appearances.

He played in QPR’s first two league games this season but not in their Capital One Cup defeat by Burton Albion, so remains eligible to play for Chelsea in all competitions.

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome’s Wife Files For Divorce On Grounds Of Adultery (DETAILS)

Thessolution of the marriage between Christ Embassy Church founder, Pastor Christian Oyakhilome, and his wife, Rev. Anita Odegwa Oyakhilome, has entered the final phase, TheCable can report. The wife is seeking divorce on the grounds of “unreasonable behaviour” and “adultery”. She outlined several allegations against the pastor which TheCable cannot publish for legal reasons.

The divorce case, with Suit No FD14D01650, was filed on April 9, 2014 at Divorce Section A, Central Family Court, First Avenue House, High Holborn, London, UK, on Anita’s behalf by Attwaters Jameson Hill Solicitors, a full-service law firm with expertise in commercial law and a strong consumer focus in family, wills and estate, personal injury law and medical negligence.

Efforts to reconcile the popular couple, whose church is one of the biggest denominations in Nigeria and has branches all over world, have failed. They have two teenage daughters, Sharon and Charlyn. Oyakhilome is the president of Believers’ Love World Inc, the registered name of the Christian ministry, while his wife is the vice-president.

The pastor, according to an elder of the church, has denied allegations of adultery and believes his wife is being influenced by “bad friends” who are intent on destroying their home. While Anita believes she has been relegated in the scheme of things in the church, her husband has reportedly accused her of trying to usurp power and authority above her seniors in the ministry. Sources told TheCable that the pastor had been making efforts to avoid divorce in the hope that the wife would eventually have a change of mind.

However, TheCable can also report that the decree nissi was served on the charismatic pastor in his hotel room during a recent visit to the UK. Decree nissi, in legal terms, is like a yellow card in a football match which is a precursor to a red card (“decree absolute”) if no new evidence is provided to stall proceedings.

Church insiders said Oyakhilome had been hoping for rapprochement, but he was left with no option than to receive the papers when the lawyers cornered him at his hotel in London. The decree absolute, which will effectively end the marriage, is expected to be issued soon while terms of the divorce will be worked out by the lawyers on both sides.

TheCable learnt Anita recently wanted to go public with the details of her allegations against the husband but reached an informal agreement to sheathe her sword in the interest of the church.

Oyakhilome is regarded as one of the richest and most influential pastors in Nigeria, and co-authors the fast-selling Christian daily devotional, Rhapsody of Realities, with the wife. However, following the strain in the marriage, the wife had been complaining to friends that her husband had stopped the payment of royalties due her from the devotional.

“She complained of being deliberately starved of funds, perhaps to bring her to her knees in the belief that she would eventually return to her matrimonial home and mend things,” a church member told TheCable in the UK. A wealthy Zimbabwean businessman, who is into telecoms, is one of the biggest financiers of the London branch of the church which Anita pastors along with other branches in Europe.

When the crisis got to a head, the Zimbabwean stopped funding the church ? some said in solidarity with Oyakhilome, his close friend and neighbour in Johannesburg, South Africa. However, Oyakhilome was said to have been shocked when the wife announced at a fundraiser that she was sowing a “seed” (donation) of $1 million ? despite her assumed lack of access to funds. Matters got to a head on Sunday, July 13, 2014, when some relatives of Anita locked up the London branch of the church to protest against the “humiliation” being meted out to their sister ? who had not overseen services at the branch since November 2013.

Some church members had sometime in May 10, 2014 launched facebook campaign, asking: “Where is Rev. Anita Oyakhilome?”They said Pastor Chris and Rev. Anita must unite “for the sake of the gospel, the church and their two beautiful daughters”.

They quoted Malachi 2:16 in the Message Bible: “I hate divorce, says the God of Israel.” The facebook page, which has over 3,300 “likes”, was opened with a stated mission: “This is a Call to Prayer for all believers who understand God’s heart concerning marriage and a Call to Action by Pst. Chris. #DoWhatYouPreach”.

Officials of the church quickly moved to deny any rift between the pastor couple. One official, Kenneth Achumasara, told the media last June: “I can tell you authoritatively that there is no issue between Pastor Chris and his wife, Anita…

If you go to the UK now you will see her along with the kids. She is still with him and there is no issue between them. I have been with him for 22 years and the Pastor Chris I know cannot even utter such words as reported. He will never address such a gathering. She will soon be in Nigeria for a programme and I will definitely invite you to have access to her.”

The 5 Big Benefits Of Coconut Oil (CLICK)

 by Ellen Penner

I admit I was late to join the coconut oil craze but it’s quickly become a staple in my pantry, and not just because it’s delicious.

But coconut oil is very high in saturated fat (about 90 percent) — a type of fat that has, for quite some time, been associated with elevated blood cholesterol levels and increased heart disease risk. The Dietary Guidelines tells us to limit this nutrient, yet a growing body of research has caused a rethink of whether saturated fat is actually bad for us at all.

So what is the deal with coconut oil then?

Well, while it’s high in saturated fat, we know that not all saturated fats are created equal — and this is where some of the believed health benefits of coconut oil come into play.

To simplify things, here’s an overview of some of the coconut oil’s most noteworthy benefits:

Easy-to-Use Energy Source

Lauric acid, the predominant saturated fat in coconut oil, is a medium-chain fatty acid. The body uses these types of fatty acids differently than the long-chain fatty acids that make up a large percentage of other dietary fats. Medium-chain fatty acids are processed by the liver and are quickly converted into energy by our cells, which is why studies like this one from 2003, and another from 2008, suggest that these particular fatty acids may be beneficial for weight loss — in moderation of course.

Good Cholesterol Booster

As far as blood cholesterol levels are concerned, consumption of solid fats like coconut oil that are rich in lauric acid have been linked to increases in both “good” (HDL) and “bad” (LDL) cholesterol levels. Though your “bad” cholesterol may go up, so should your good cholesterol. The evidence suggests coconut oil may have a neutral, or even slightly beneficial effect on cholesterol levels when used in place of other saturated, ortrans-fats.

Antimicrobial and Antioxidant Advantages

Coconut oil has long been revered for its bug-fighting properties. Though more research needs to be done in this area, coconut oil contains compounds thought to prevent or fight certain viral, bacterial and fungal infections like the flu, bronchitis, yeast infections, acne and more. Additionally, coconut oil, particularly unrefined or virgin coconut oil, contains phenolic compounds which have protective, antioxidant properties.

Convenient for Cooking

As far as cooking benefits are concerned, coconut oil is a more solid oil that is both mild in flavor and fairly heat stable. It works well for a variety of dishes, particularly baked goods and medium-heat sautes. The mild taste makes it a popular choice for curries or other dishes that benefit from a hint of tropical flavor.

Simple Skincare Solution

Coconut oil has benefits beyond food and nutrition. It doubles as a great make-up remover and moisturizer, especially during cold winter months when skin is more susceptible to dryness and cracking.

So, is coconut oil all it’s cracked up to be?

Due to its high lauric acid content, virgin coconut oil is a great substitute for other types of saturated fats, such as lard and butter, and trans fats, such as vegetable shortening. But, despite having several great qualities, coconut oil is still a fat, and all fats are calorie-dense so it’s best to use in moderation.

Which brings me to my next point. It’s great for cooking, but should it be the only oil you use?

For beauty purposes it can be, but it’s probably best not to rely on just one cooking oil. Using it in addition to other types of cooking oils will not only produce better results depending on the type of dish you’re preparing, but will also provide a variety of other important fats, like those heart-healthy Omega-3s.

Bottom Line: If it’s not in your kitchen cabinet already, consider adding coconut oil to your collection.
