A surgery is expected to take 10 hours, and 20 physicians from 10 departments
Doctor Chen Fei, who will carry out the plastic surgery, said:
"The patient’s mouth is all missing; the jaws are distorted. It’ll be
the most challenging surgery I’ve ever done in the past 15 years.
The surgery will reconstruct his upper and lower lips and his missing face muscles. We’ll
take two musculocutaneous flaps from his legs, and transplant them on
to his face after tailoring them. It involves a lot of nerve and vessel
sutures."
